Investor experience
January 15, 2026
Vanguard is bringing together technology, data, and behavioral finance insights to help investors make better financial decisions. Our latest enhancements: digital nudges, curated fund lists, and AI-driven tools that are designed to simplify decision-making, reduce friction, and keep clients’ goals at the center of every innovation.
In a recent Barron’s feature, Vanguard leaders shared how we’re evolving the investor experience through strategic initiatives that prioritize simplicity, reliability, and results:
Investor inertia can be costly. To help investors put their money to work, we’ve introduced timely prompts, such as reminders for those who’ve rolled over IRA funds but haven’t invested in the account yet. These nudges have moved more than $6 billion from idle cash into diversified portfolios, reinforcing our commitment to long-term wealth building.
Listening to client feedback, we rebuilt our website and mobile app for easier navigation—especially for investors managing multiple accounts. Behind the scenes, a complete tech stack overhaul has dramatically improved reliability and significantly reduced outages.
With more than 400 funds available, options can feel overwhelming. Our new approach offers curated fund lists tailored to investor needs, making decisions simpler and the approach more organized.
Artificial intelligence is shaping the future of investing, and Vanguard is investing thoughtfully. From virtual assistants to tools that monitor progress toward financial goals, our AI initiatives are designed to scale responsibly. “Everything we do is aimed at a singular purpose, which is maximizing investor returns,” said Nitin Tandon, Vanguard’s global chief information officer and managing director of IT. “Any investment in AI will be aimed at that.”
