Vanguard has announced a new research initiative in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto, one of the world’s premier academic institutions in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). This partnership aims to enhance AI research and innovation, ultimately benefiting investors and the broader financial services industry.
The University of Toronto’s Department of Computer Science will establish several specialized labs, bringing together professors, postdoctoral fellows, and students to work alongside Vanguard’s AI research team in Toronto. This team, which will serve Vanguard investors and clients globally, will focus on developing broad AI solutions and insights to address various business challenges.

Along with generating new AI research team roles in the Toronto office, this initiative will provide internship opportunities for University of Toronto students.
