Four leaders at Vanguard have been honored on Barron’s sixth annual list of the 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance for their significant contributions to the world of finance. The list recognizes women in top leadership roles who are instrumental in shaping the future of the financial industry. Vanguard leaders have been featured on the Barron’s list each year since its 2020 inception.
Meet our award-winning leaders
Amma Boateng is managing director of Vanguard’s FAS division, which provides investment products, services, education, and research to more than 50,000 financial advisory firms1 and teams representing over $4 trillion in assets.2
Sara Devereux is Vanguard’s global head of the Fixed Income Group, which manages over $2.5 trillion in assets.3 The group focuses on portfolio management, trading, and research for Vanguard’s internally managed fixed income funds and ETFs, including actively managed bond and money market portfolios and bond index portfolios.
Janel Jackson is head of bank and institutional in FAS. She was previously Vanguard’s global head of ETF Capital Markets and Broker & Index Relations, where she helped ensure the quality and performance of Vanguard ETFs and provided strategic relationship management of broker-dealers and Vanguard’s fixed index providers.
Michelle Louie, CFA, is a senior portfolio manager in Vanguard’s Equity Index Group, where she is involved with daily trading and portfolio management. She co-manages several Vanguard funds, including Vanguard 500 Index Fund.

Fostering a culture of excellence
All four honorees have played crucial roles in driving several key initiatives at Vanguard. Their leadership has been instrumental in extending the Vanguard mission to fixed income and educating advisors and investors about the power and benefits of ETFs. They have spearheaded AI innovations that have not only met but exceeded client expectations, while also overseeing the management of some of our most prominent funds. Their commitment to excellence has fostered a strong, collaborative culture within their teams and across Vanguard, setting high standards and driving continuous improvement.
